Review of Canyon Cambrils Park 2015
The A Cycling Experience team enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Canyon Cambrils Park Sportive on Saturday 18th April. Congratulations to Jaume and his team for putting together one of the most superbly organised events we’ve attended. Great weather, rolling police road closures, plentiful and regular feeding stations, and an enthusiastic group of marshals and volunteers ensured that the 1500+ riders had a fantastic day in the saddle.
A superb route took us from the Cambrils Park resort out into the mountains of Costa Daurada. With 5 challenging climbs on the shorter 106km route (I’m afraid none of us were up to the 184km longer route!) we were rewarded with stunning scenery and thrilling descents. The last high speed twisty 10k descent from Montbrio del Camp was a real highlight of the day. With the finish back at the Cambrils Park resort the last few km’s along the flat seafront road were a fitting end to a brilliant ride.
Back at the resort, the post event pasta party was getting in to full swing with a live band and free drinks in the glorious sunshine. What better way to end a great day of cycling!
